Departure from Valbonne, direction Grasse and Napoléon’s road up to Castellane for a coffee pause with absolutely stunning views! We enter the european welknown red canyons; We use the road surrounding the lake of Sainte Croix with lunch break there and on the road again to brace youself for a very nice moto trip, but be sure you’re not afraid of heights if you take the dreaded D23 road. Ride and and enjoy the beauty of this scenic gorge in the south of France, not as dramatic as Grand Canyon, but maybe more beautiful ? Definitely one of the best spots in France for nature lovers! It is the most attractive France from the point of view of nature. Southern France has a lot to offer. Among all those things you need to visit European Grand Canyon – Gorges du Verdon. Cliffs, mountains, views, river down below and hear your own echo in the depth of it all. Spend a day in amazing atmosphere surrounded by magnificence of nature. It’s difficult to describe this experience without lapsing into cliches. Photos simply don’t do it justice. We drive in from Nice or Cannes via Lac St Croix. Morning drives is memorable, with perfectly calm, sunny but chilly weather mirroring the distant alps shimmering on the lake.

Riviera Moto Tour « la route des gorges ».
Departure from Valbonne. Direction vallée du Var. Up to N202 direction Entrevaux, coffee time in Touët sur Var then direction Beuil by D28 and it famous gorges du Cians (gorges known for their red schiste color). We stop for lunch at Valberg, small south Alpes ski resort. After lunh we go to Guillaumes by Péone and way down to Entrevaux by les gorges du Daluis to drive into extraordinary roads among the mountains. Little pause at Entrevaux, medieval city with an option to visit the MOTOBIKE MUSEUM. For the most competitive, wayback by D2211 direction to Sigale and Roquesteron with wonderful sightseeings on clues et gorges.

Riviera Moto tourism « la côte Varoise, l’Estérel »
Departure from Valbonne, we go down to Cannes toreach the sea front. Direction la Napoule and Théoule / mer before entering the Estérel massif. Coffee Pause in St Raphaël. Then we ride direction Sainte Maxime and Saint Tropez for lunch time. We come back in the afternoon to Cannes by the DN7 throughout the Estérel. The coast of the Mediterranean is sometimes cluttered by standard modern buildings but here you can still enjoy the wonders of nature . There are hundreds of beautiful places in the massif with gorgeous views on the Med, red cliffs, little private beaches. The Esterel massif is a place with exquisite restaurants, seafood restaurants. In contrast to the quite busy and touristic beach coast of this area (Cannes/ Frejus / St Raphael) it is a nice quite environment to ride and enjoy nature. The Massif de l’Esterel offers opportunities for some famous guides tours, going up to 450 m above sea-level, there are fantastic views of the mountain ridges extending into the sea. The ride do take you to magnificent places from where the entire coastline can be seen for dozens of kilometers in either direction. Stunning in beauty as their volcanic red rocks and jagged peaks contrast with the dark greens of their cork oaks and the blue of the Mediterranean in the distance.

Turini forest and Col de Turini
Standing at 1,607 metres above sea level, the Col de Turini boasts incredible views from the Alps all the way to the Mediterranean, Monaco and Menton. The famous roads of the Col de Turini, Peïra-Cava, Lucéram, the Authion, Sospel or Breil sur Roya have all the ingredients of one of the best driving routes in Europe, if not the world.

Riviera Moto Tour « la route des cols » > col de la Cayolle and col de la Bonette. Departure from Valbonne. Direction Nice, Vallée du Var then la Vésubie valley to St Etienne de Tinée and ride up to le col de la Bonnette. Then we ride down to Barcelonnette for having lunch. In the afternoon, wayback by le col de la Cayolle down to St Martin d’Entraunes, then Guillaume and back to Nice by N202. Part of the « 3 cols » route, adrenaline guaranteed, one of my favourite routes heading south out of Barcelonette. It is on the Col d’Allos/ Col de la Cayolle / Col des Champs tour for cyclists too! This very narrow road has some wonderful views and curves, you will really enjoy this beautiful landscape and the gorges of the river. If you are visiting the area to climb by bike the famous mountain passes of the region don’t miss this one. It is beautiful and an experience. Really enjoyable ride from Barcelonnette is a must! This is an outstanding cycle. Take time to enjoy the view and the impressive engineering of the road. Watch the decent, lots of very steep drop offs. The scenery changes as you climb up through the river valley, passing many cyclists on the way! We stop to take photos on some of the bridges over the river. We ride from Barcelonnette to Nice on the road that crosses the Col de la Cayolle – a high mountain pass located in the French Alps (7,631 ft elevation). The road follows along a rugged and beautiful valley.
